WELCOME...
On January 23, 2008, I filed with the Indiana Secretary of State as required by law my candidacy for Judge of our new Floyd Superior Court 3. I am uniquely qualified to serve Floyd County as Judge. Sixteen years ago I began my legal studies at Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis. My professional experience as a Judge Pro Tem and trial attorney fighting crime and protecting individual rights was recognized in 2004. Chief Justice Shepard of the Indiana Supreme Court, after careful consideration of my performance, experience and background, chose me to perform the duties of Hearing Officer presiding over cases of Indiana attorney discipline for the high court.
In 2005, I was appointed to regularly serve in both Scott Superior and Circuit Courts as Referee managing a regular caseload, ruling on motions, and issuing court findings and orders. I continue to serve today on the bench in these judicial capacities. My professional service also includes teaching college students Business Law as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Southeast. I also support veterans and military families, the poor and disadvantaged, our youth, minority interests and diversity, and law enforcement.
I want to be judge of Superior Court 3 because Floyd County is my home, and I want to give my best to our community to improve and raise the level of confidence in our court system. As judge, I will stress integrity, fairness and respect in the court, help relieve jail overcrowding, ease the overall caseload burden, and focus on new programs to make our justice system better for everyone. Let’s build our new court on a strong record of public service. Please encourage your family and friends to vote for me. I ask for your vote during the primary election on May 6, 2008.
